Quantum illumination with a parametrically amplified idler

چکیده
Quantum illumination uses a quantum state of the electromagnetic field to detect presence target against bright background more sensitively than any classical state. Most often, is two-mode squeezed vacuum consisting signal and idler modes with non-zero phase-sensitive cross correlation, which serves as signature for detection, zero phase-insensitive means produce no fringes in second order interference. Here it shown that applying amplification results correlation enabling reception by simple beam splitter photodetectors. It parametrically amplified has lower probability error an asymptotically optimal classical-state scheme discriminating between present absent equal prior probabilities.

Parametrically amplified radiation in a cavity with an oscillating wall
We introduce a time-dependent perturbation method to calculate the number of created particles in a 1D cavity with an oscillating wall of the frequency Ω. This method makes it easy to find the dominant part of the solution which results from the parametric resonance. The maximal number of particles are created at the mode frequency Ω/2. Using the Floquet theory, we discuss the long-time behavio...
متن کاملQuantum Superposition of Parametrically Amplified Multiphoton Pure States Whitin a Decoherence-free Schroedinger-cat Structure
The new process of quantum-injection into an optical parametric amplifier operating in entangled configuration is adopted to amplify into a large dimensionality spin-12 Hilbert space the quantum entanglement and superposition properties of the photon-couples generated by parametric down-conversion. The structure of the Wigner function and of the field’s correlation functions shows a decoherence...
متن کاملMicrowave quantum illumination.
Quantum illumination is a quantum-optical sensing technique in which an entangled source is exploited to improve the detection of a low-reflectivity object that is immersed in a bright thermal background. Here, we describe and analyze a system for applying this technique at microwave frequencies, a more appropriate spectral region for target detection than the optical, due to the naturally occu...
متن کاملQuantum current modeling in nano-transistors with a quantum dot
Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) serve as a new class of ‘zero dimensional’ nanomaterial’s in thecarbon class with sizes below 10 nm. As light emitting nanocrystals, QDs are assembled from semiconductormaterials, from the elements in the periodic groups of II-VI, III-V or IV-VI, mainly thanks to impacts of quantum confinement QDs have unique optical properties such as brighter, highly pho...
متن کاملImproved idler beam quality via simultaneous parametric oscillation and signal-to-idler conversion.
We report on an improvement of idler beam quality in a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (OPO), where the resonant signal is converted to the idler via an additional difference frequency generation (DFG) process. The two processes are phase matched simultaneously by a quasi-periodically poled nonlinear crystal. Whereas back-conversion of the signal and idler to the pump frequency di...
